Job Title: Sr. Software Engineer - Machine Vision

Description:
As leader and pioneer in packaging inspection technologies, our company has been providing key players in the food and beverage industry with state of the art products, supporting their inspection, quality assurance and liability protection needs.

To support our growth, we are looking for an experienced Sr. Software Engineer with Machine Vision experience. This position is part of the R&D department's software engineering team, reporting to VP of Software Engineering.

Essential Job Functions:
- Develop imaging algorithms to screen moving bottles/cans on high-speed conveyor belts
- Utilize image filters, detection and recognition techniques to reliably identify defects
- Implement both conventional and machine learning methods to adapt and re-configure to new container types, labels, and products
- Statistically analyze image data sets for descriptive features
- Derive classifiers to reliably sort rejects from accepts in real-time
- Optimally map algorithms onto multi-processor DSP architectures
- Develop next-generation systems on GPU and multi-core processors

Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in image processing, filters, feature extraction and classification algorithms. High-speed image defect identification or object search experience a plus
- Experience creating image acquisition models using cameras, illumination and optics techniques
- Experience in high-speed, distributed image processing platforms leveraging DSP, GPU or multi-core architectures
- Extensive experience with Matlab, C/C++, Linux or any RTOS
- Master's degree in computer engineering, physics or a related technical discipline
