Full Job Description:
Our client is looking for Cisco Network Engineer possessing either a minimum active DOD Secret or DOE L clearance to work with our federal client. This individual will be providing direction and support for the Idaho National Lab and the Department of Homeland Security in Idaho. The work will be located onsite in Idaho. You will work on a project that will utilize engineering knowledge, practices, and techniques to solve applied and operational problems related to communications infrastructure. You will provide design and troubleshooting support for both internal and external federal data network customers. Responsibilities include classified and unclassified system administration and infrastructure engineering, analysis and solution integration. A large part of the project will be migrating applications behind the web application firewall.
You will be a member of a team that helps create and maintain new and existing network infrastructure and can look strategically at the entire environment. This will be located in Idaho and supporting our long-term, federal customer for a minimum 1-year engagement with the possibility of extension.
If selected you will:
Migrate DMZ Applications behind the web application firewall;
Develop Software Development processes to include steps for configuring/maintaining security configurations, and develop processes to ensure active assessment and maintenance of the web application configuration.
Work within all aspects of Cisco networking troubleshooting, diagnostics, configuration, and repair.
Must have requirements:
US citizen with ability to pass a DHS suitability check. This requires the candidates to have an ACTIVE DOD or DOE clearances including Secret, Top Secret, and TS/SCI, L or Q clearances.
8 years of current networking experience with Cisco, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.Juniper and Oracle background plus.
Working onsite in Idaho.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors of Science degree or equivalent education and experience
8 years’ experience in network engineering and/or administration
US citizen with ability to pass a DHS suitability check (may include possessing an active Government Clearance)
Must work at the Idaho National Laboratory location (no remote work under this procurement)
Experience with Layer 1 network connectivity and troubleshooting
Experience with Layer 2, 3, and 4 switching and token passing architectures
Experience with Protocols: Internet protocol suite TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP
Experience with Routing: Cisco IOS/COS and Juniper and IP routing protocols, BGP, etc.
Experience with Data Network troubleshooting, diagnostics, configuration, and repair
Experience within Windows operating system
Experience with Oracle systems a bonus
