Full Job Description:
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Liaises between project teams and/or the IP Department as appropriate and requested by IP counsel.
• Attend business, development, or engineering team meetings to provide basic IP perspective and information, resolve issues, and complete action items
• Track the generation and submission of new Invention Disclosures to facilitate the timely creation of quality Invention Disclosures meeting Corning standards.
• Collect relevant new patent publications related to LCD glass manufacturing and distribute to selected employees for review and input
• Execute as needed patent search/analysis projects and report out to attorneys or business leaders
• Participate in projects to improve effectiveness and/or efficiency of CDT IP business processes
• General research and analysis including: patent publication search and analysis; IP Landscape Analysis; and IP Legal matter support
• Advocate for standard methodologies for IP communications and trade secret protection, and ensures information protection guidelines are followed
• Supports other related IP Department needs as requested by IP Department.
Travel Requirements:
<10% domestic
<10% international (1 trip/year to JP, KR, or TW)
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:
40hrs/week plus travel, routine evening conference calls.
Required Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, optics, chemical, or materials engineering or science. Advanced degree preferred.
• 2-5 years in technology/ engineering environment and/or 2+ years’ direct involvement or experience with management of patent processes.
