Position Description:
Process technician within the Dry Blend & Forming Process Engineering group supporting manufacturing operations, process improvements and troubleshooting, and new technology implementation.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Support plant safety programs to provide a safe working environment
• Serve as a process resource for troubleshooting of production equipment and processes
• Solve process issues through data analysis, experimentation, and collaboration with experts
• Develop and update engineering and operations documentation
• Use Excel and/or statistical software for preliminary data analysis
• Manage process logistics and experiment execution
• Involvement with design of experiments
• Compile and analyze short and long-term process data to identify trends and shifts
• Support new product setup and development
• Management of process performance in Dry Blend and Forming, including tracking of area specific metrics and collaboration with operations, mechanical, and controls support to identify cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Day to Day Dry Blend Process Support including daily process monitoring, run preparation, hardware, and process setpoints, post run performance reviews, oversight for maintenance requirements, and inventory management.
Within Group: You will be working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Travel Requirements: You can expect less than 10% travel.
Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: Your typical work schedule will be 8-5pm M-F although you should expect to have flexibility for off shift and weekend coverage is expected to support project assignments including overtime.
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
You should have an AS technical degree with about one year of process engineering technician experience and:
• Basic knowledge of Six Sigma (DMAIC / DESGN) methodology
• Technically curious, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
• Learn new technology and processes quickly
• Strong logistical skills
• Capable to monitor and execute designed experiments
• Equipment / process aptitude with ability to troubleshoot and characterize key process drivers
• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills
• Creative / innovative problem solving
• Ability to handle/prioritize multiple tasks as necessary
• Good written and verbal communication skills (detailed oriented)
• PC proficient
Desired skills:
• Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or DMAIC project experience
• Proficiency with MS Excel, SPCExcel, and/or Minitab or other statistical software
• Manufacturing plant experience
• Ability to develop and implement innovative process/equipment improvements Soft
