TRISTAR is seeking a Procurement Parts Ordering Specialist for our Corporate Office in Bedford, IN



Position Description:

The Procurement Part Ordering Specialist will review program requirements, assist program in selecting qualified vendors that meet all prime contract requirements, order items and provide frequent status updates


Position Responsibilities:

Coordinates all activities related to procurement of materials beginning with intent to purchase through delivery.
Analyzes the requirements of the materials, including preliminary specifications, preferred supplier, and date materials is needed.
Solicits and evaluates proposals for the requested materials.
Investigates and/or interviews potential suppliers to determine if they meet the specified requirements.
Recommends to team members or management on the appropriate supplier to be used.
Negotiates the lowest possible cost for the materials balanced against the optimum quality and schedule needs.
Issue purchase orders that comply with company and government regulations.
Assures that the materials are delivered on schedule, at the negotiated price, and meet the quality standards of the company.
Maintains timely control of orders, amendments, shipping notices, and other documents to assure accurate retention of records.
Maintains status sheet(s) of all ongoing procurements with current status on a delay basis. Must be knowledge of procurement status and comfortable communicating during meetings.


Position Requirements:

Must possess intermediate to advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Must be able to multitask and prioritize workload
Must possess strong business communication skills
Must have strong organizational skills
Must possess knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations and application of Service Contract Act.
Must be a US Citizen

Education and Certification:

High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associates degree preferred
Minimum 3-5 years experience in acquisition of parts and services for DoD contracts
