Ti-Ni alloy is a stoichiometric compound of Ti and Ni. The equiatomic intermetallic compound TiNi exhibits the shape memory phenomenon that allows for the spontaneous recovery of shape after being subjected to macroscopic deformation higher than its elastic limit. Ti–Ni alloys consisting of equal atomic amounts of Ti and Ni (49–51 mol%Ni) show unique mechanical properties such as shape memory, superelasticity, and dumping.
