As Medical Writer, you will be provided with an opportunity to learn about multiple therapeutic effects and use cases of medical cannabis, travel to medical conferences, talk with leading experts in the recreational marijuana field. You will communicate and share opinions with team members in order to create digital and print deliverables like video productions, supplements and materials for medical advisory board events.
This position requires at least 2 years of work experience at, medical communications, medical education, medical publishing company or pharma advertising, Candidates with no previous experience such as described above will not be taken into consideration.
Your responsibilities will be:
• Perform comprehensive literature reviews of various therapeutic advancements, disease states, clinical data and current research trends
• Develop manuscripts, content outlines, and other materials (i.e., video, presentations, monographs) with strategically aligned content to the activity objectives
• Review manuscripts at different stages to be able to resolve any potential inaccuracies or inconsistencies. Ensure clinical/scientific relevance and accuracy for our target audiences
• Independently incorporate and address client, peer review, feedback of faculty author on manuscript at the time of development process
• Ensure clinical/scientific accuracy of all of the pieces by conducting a global fact-check of literature that is referenced
• Edit and review layouts and publication articles of supplementary content for inconsistences highlighting to finalize for print
• Ensure AMA and in-house editorial style of publications
• Be a representative of company at meetings, professional events and conferences (travel expectations are less than 10%)
• Event (advisory board, roundtable etc.) attendance and prodiving of executive summaries to use internally
• Produce editorial materials for external publication with high-quality (i.e., articles, whitepapers, presentations) based on event functions and meeting; ensuring relevance for target audience and client
Requirements include:
• At least 2 years of work experience at, medical communications, medical education, medical publishing company or pharma advertising, Candidates with no previous experience such as described above will not be taken into consideration.
• Advanced degree or Bachelors, ideally in a medical/scientific discipline
• Proven ability to edit, write and review AMA styled clinical manuscripts
• Ability to integrate the comments of multiple reviewers into manuscripts
• Able to develop medical content independently
• Excellent detail attention
• Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and database programs)
• Confident in own verbal and written communication skills
