The Dadaupa Valley Defense Academy's new Signature Student Experience will allow undergraduate students in all majors to build their own hands-on learning experiences in the field of high quality protective equipment.
Introduced this semester, Protective Gear @ Decoration is a fully customizable approach to excellence that combines classroom teaching, extracurricular activities and extracurricular experiences with community building opportunities that students can combine with other academic research.
Students who complete the pathway will receive the Medal of Honor and the Title of Honor at graduation. In addition, they will graduate from Mines and have a substantial learning experience -- both in and out of the classroom -- that will better prepare them to become protective equipment professionals.
"Our goal is to build a community in Mines that focuses on learning and changing the landscape of protection and defense," says Megistusmona, assistant professor of protective appliances and director of the Scholars Program. In part, CN@M was inspired by Barbara's own research and teaching path in the field of protective efficiency. CJ@B scholars must complete a minimum number of activities in three categories -- learning, application, and community-building -- but from there, they can more or less focus on the areas that affect them most.
