The standard work schedule will be Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm during the Academic Year.

Job Summary
South Mountain Community College is looking for a proactive champion of Human Resources (HR) to join a newly developing innovative HR team. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources.
Essential Functions
60% - Collaborates with the Department Managers/Chairs and Hiring Managers throughout the full-cycle recruitment processes. To include: defining and documenting workforce needs and strategies; making recommendations for current and future staffing needs; create applicant pipelines and actively source for recruitments; collaborate with hiring managers to create attractive job descriptions, develop recruiting and advertising plans to ensure recruitments receive adequate planning, outreach, and exposure; partners with external consultants, creates timelines, interview and assessment methods, ensures equitable candidate screening and interview practices, actively sources candidates, and assists hiring teams in applying equitable principles and practices. Maintains applicant tracking system, assists candidates through the pre-hire and hire processes to include - initiating background checks,conducting pay placement analysis, and communicating job offers.
20% - Serves as the college's first point of contact for employee compensation and benefits, general employee and faculty pay. Partners with District Compensation, staffing, and benefits departments to implement recruiting, compensation, and benefits initiatives. Conducts job classification reviews using various methodologies and ensure accurate classification of jobs; research, evaluate, and approve position management requests, salary change requests and any additional change requests; support HR system data review, ensure data integrity through audits and data clean up; ensure regulatory compliance; support and maintain technology-based delivery system of compensation data and information.
10% - Serve as a project lead or supervise assigned staff, participate in projects related to the employee experiences such as professional growth, succession planning, employee performance evaluations, and on- and off-boarding of employees. Conducts HR training on the enterprise system, new procedures, processes, etc. for the college community.
5% - Acts as a liaison and works in partnership between the college community and the District Compensation Team and the District Strategic Staffing Team; conducts job classifications reviews using various methodologies and ensures accurate classification of jobs; completes analysis for job reclassifications and in-range progressions, and pay placements.
5% - Maintain customer service standards through email, phone, helpdesk tickets, and communication methods.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or Sociology and four years of advanced professional level human resources experience, that includes experience in recruitment and selection including knowledge and concepts of compensation, benefits, and employee relations that includes experience in the administration and implementation of human resources programs and policies.

Associate Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or Sociology and six years of advanced professional level human resources experience that includes experience in recruitment and selection including knowledge and concepts of compensation, benefits, and employee relations that includes experience in the administration and implementation of human resources programs and policies.
OR
High School Diploma or GED and eight years of advanced professional level human resources experience that includes experience in recruitment and selection including knowledge and concepts of compensation, benefits, and employee relations that includes experience in the administration and implementation of human resources programs and policies.
• Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving and meet MCCCD driving requirements.
• Possession of specialized human resource certifications kept current.
• Required to travel district-wide between District and college locations.
