Work location in San Carlos, CA. Prepare and compile structural drawing and calculation
packages under supervision of Project Manager (PM); Close communication with Building
Information Modeling (BIM) staff during preparation of structural drawings; Construction
Administration – Frequent communication with contractor and design team during
construction phase; Providing structural engineering input by way of structural submittals,
Request for Information (RFI) documents, and other general assistance in structural issues.
Perform site visits and structural observations; Engineer and detail full structural designs
while being involved in other project related tasks; Serve as point of contact for
architect/owner of small to medium size projects for structural engineering needs; Attend and
contribute to project meetings; Coordination of structural related issues with other disciplines
of the design team; Execution of all aspects of structural project design from start to finish;
Assist Project Managers in the structural design of structures made of steel, wood, concrete
and timber; Perform analysis and design of both gravity as well as lateral (earthquake/wind)
force resisting systems made of wood, steel and concrete including but not limited to wood
shear walls, concrete shear walls, braced frames, etc. Requires master’s degree in civil or
structural engineering. 24-month work experience as Design/Project Engineer or related. PE
license (Civil Engineer) in California. Familiarity with building codes. Familiarity with
structural building codes of various materials including wood, steel and concrete. Possess the
working knowledge of structural analysis and design software such as SAFE, ETABS, RAM,
