Full Description

Webuild Staffing (www.webuildstaffing.com) is seeking a motivated and technically strong Civil Engineer (EIT or PE) with experience in septic system design, water supply development, and water quality testing to join and help lead a growing consulting engineering practice. This role is uniquely positioned for either an established professional engineer ready to step into broader leadership responsibilities or an ambitious Engineer-in-Training eager to accelerate their career into a management and technical leadership role. The selected candidate will play a key role in delivering critical infrastructure solutions for residential, commercial, and rural developments while helping shape the future direction of the consulting engineering group. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will be responsible for the planning, design, permitting, and oversight of on-site wastewater systems, potable water supply systems, and associated testing and compliance programs. You will lead projects from initial site evaluations and feasibility studies through detailed design, regulatory approvals, construction coordination, and project closeout. Responsibilities include performing soil evaluations, percolation testing, hydraulic analyses, and water quality assessments; preparing engineering reports, technical calculations, and construction documents; and coordinating with regulatory agencies, health departments, clients, and contractors. In addition to technical responsibilities, you will provide leadership within the consulting engineering group by mentoring junior engineers and technical staff, supporting workload planning, and helping establish consistent design standards and best practices. You will collaborate with ownership and senior leadership on project strategy, client development, scheduling, and quality control, with the opportunity to gradually assume expanded management responsibilities depending on experience and career objectives. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and be either an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) actively pursuing PE licensure or a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). Candidates should have demonstrated experience in septic system design, water supply development, and water testing, with a strong understanding of local and state regulatory requirements governing on-site wastewater and potable water systems. Experience preparing permit applications, working with environmental health agencies, and supporting construction activities is highly desirable. Registration as a Soil Evaluator (SE) or Systems Inspector (SI) in Massachusetts is highly preferred, but not required. This role requires strong communication, organizational, and leadership potential. Candidates must be capable of managing multiple projects, engaging directly with clients and regulators, and providing clear technical guidance to staff. Why This Opportunity is Compelling This position offers a rare opportunity to take on meaningful technical leadership within a consulting engineering environment focused on essential infrastructure and community development. Whether you are a seasoned engineer seeking greater influence or an ambitious EIT ready to fast-track into leadership, this role provides a clear pathway for growth, mentorship, and long-term career advancement. You will work on projects that have a direct impact on public health, environmental stewardship, and sustainable development while contributing to the strategic growth of the engineering practice. A competitive compensation package, professional development support, and long-term leadership potential are key components of this opportunity. Confidential Application Process Qualified civil engineering professionals are encouraged to submit their applications confidentially to Webuild. All inquiries and candidate information will be handled with the strictest discretion.
