Full Description

Join Carnival Corporation as the Manager, Crew Health Doctor, a pivotal leadership role overseeing the medical well-being of thousands of crew members across our global fleet of cruise ships. This position, based in our vibrant Miami headquarters, plays a crucial role in maintaining peak health standards, minimizing downtime, and supporting the seamless operation of our world-class vacation experiences. Your expertise will directly impact crew retention, safety compliance, and the overall success of our maritime operations, ensuring every team member is fit for adventure at sea. In this dynamic role, you will develop and implement comprehensive crew health strategies, conducting regular medical assessments and wellness screenings for shipboard personnel. Daily tasks include reviewing health reports from vessels worldwide, coordinating telemedicine consultations, and responding to urgent medical queries from ship doctors. Weekly, you'll lead virtual rounds with onboard medical teams, analyze health trends using data analytics tools, and prepare reports on key metrics like illness incidence rates and vaccination compliance. Monthly responsibilities encompass auditing medical supply inventories across the fleet, training crew on health protocols, and collaborating with HR and operations departments to address wellness program gaps. You will manage a team of regional health coordinators, mentor junior doctors, and spearhead initiatives like mental health support programs and preventive care campaigns. Deliverables include quarterly health dashboards presented to senior executives, ensuring alignment with maritime regulations such as SOLAS and ILO standards. Expect frequent interaction with ship captains, fleet managers, and external healthcare partners to resolve complex cases efficiently. Candidates must hold a valid Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, with board certification in occupational medicine, family practice, or emergency medicine preferred. A minimum of 7-10 years of clinical experience is required, including at least 3 years in maritime, travel, or remote medicine environments. Essential hard skills include proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, telemedicine platforms such as Teladoc, and diagnostic tools for shipboard use. You need an active U.S. medical license, DEA registration, and certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and maritime medical training from recognized bodies like the Maritime Medical Access Centre. Strong knowledge of international health regulations (IHR), cruise industry epidemiology, and tropical disease management is mandatory. Experience supervising multicultural teams in high-pressure settings will set you apart. Success demands exceptional clinical acumen paired with leadership prowess to guide diverse medical teams. Technical fluency in health informatics, data visualization software like Tableau, and remote diagnostic technologies is vital. Soft skills such as empathetic communication for handling crew concerns across language barriers, decisive problem-solving during emergencies, and strategic thinking for program innovation are non-negotiable. Cultural sensitivity, adaptability to rotating schedules including nights and weekends, and a passion for preventive healthcare in dynamic environments define top performers. Carnival Corporation, the world's largest cruise operator, powers unforgettable vacations for millions with brands like Carnival Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, and Holland America. Our mission is to deliver fun, memorable experiences while prioritizing safety and sustainability. Headquartered in Miami, our collaborative culture fosters innovation in a diverse, global workforce of over 100,000. The health team operates in a fast-paced, supportive environment blending office-based strategy with virtual ship oversight, emphasizing work-life balance amid industry-leading perks. We offer competitive compensation with salary not specified, commensurate with experience, plus performance bonuses and profit-sharing. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, vision coverage, 401(k) with company match, and generous PTO starting at 25 days annually. Unique perks feature travel privileges on our ships for you and family, flexible hybrid scheduling, wellness reimbursements, and professional development stipends. Additional incentives like stock options and employee assistance programs enhance total rewards. Advance your career through leadership tracks to Director of Fleet Health or VP Medical Affairs, with tuition support for advanced certifications. Engage in global conferences, mentorship programs, and cross-functional projects. Apply via our careers portal with resume, credentials, and cover letter highlighting maritime passion.
