Holder Construction seeks an Assistant Project Manager in Mount Prospect, IL to support project execution, team coordination, and ensure timely delivery of construction projects. Join our dynamic team to drive success in facilities construction.

Full Description

At Holder Construction, the Assistant Project Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the successful execution of construction projects, particularly in the facilities sector. This position is essential for bridging the gap between planning and on-site implementation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. By assisting senior project managers, you will contribute directly to the company's reputation for excellence and client satisfaction, impacting our growth in the competitive construction industry. In this role, you will assist in overseeing all phases of construction projects from pre-construction planning through closeout. Daily tasks include monitoring site progress, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to resolve issues promptly, and updating project schedules using tools like Primavera P6 or MS Project. Weekly, you will conduct site meetings with field teams, review safety compliance, and prepare progress reports for stakeholders, tracking key metrics such as cost variance and schedule performance indices. Monthly responsibilities encompass budget analysis, change order management, and quality assurance inspections to mitigate risks. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, clients, and internal departments like procurement and estimating, while supporting leadership in mentoring junior staff and fostering team accountability. Deliverables include detailed RFIs, submittal logs, and punch lists, ensuring seamless project flow in fast-paced environments. Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, along with at least 2-4 years of progressive experience in construction project coordination. Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Procore, Bluebeam Revu, and Autodesk BIM 360 is required, complemented by strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and OSHA safety regulations. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to job sites are essential. Preferred qualifications include LEED certification or experience with facilities projects in commercial or industrial settings, demonstrating a solid foundation for contributing effectively from day one. Success in this position demands a blend of technical expertise and interpersonal strengths. Technically, you should excel in data analysis, blueprint reading, and digital project management platforms. Soft skills like exceptional communication for stakeholder updates, problem-solving under pressure, and leadership to motivate teams are crucial. Organizational prowess ensures multitasking across multiple projects, while adaptability thrives in dynamic construction settings. Industry competencies in value engineering and sustainable practices further set top performers apart. Holder Construction, a leader in delivering innovative facilities solutions, is driven by a mission to build lasting infrastructure that exceeds expectations. Our values of integrity, safety, and collaboration define our culture, where diverse teams work in a supportive environment emphasizing work-life balance and professional growth. With a structure that promotes open communication across office and field operations, we foster a unique atmosphere of innovation and mutual respect. We offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience, as salary details are not specified but aligned with industry standards. Comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a robust 401(k) with company match, and generous paid time off.
