At St. John's Riverside Hospital, the Human Resources Administrative Assistant plays a pivotal role in streamlining HR functions to support our 500+ staff delivering compassionate care across Yonkers facilities. This position anchors daily HR workflows, enabling focus on patient outcomes in our community-focused nonprofit hospital.
Day-to-day tasks include meticulously updating employee files in Cerner HRIS and Workday, processing new hire paperwork for nursing and support roles, and coordinating bi-weekly orientation sessions for 20-30 hires. The role involves auditing I-9 compliance for our diverse workforce, preparing monthly reports on turnover metrics using Excel pivot tables, and assisting with FMLA leave tracking to maintain regulatory adherence. Expect hands-on involvement in benefits enrollment drives during open periods and ad-hoc projects like digitizing historical personnel records.
Candidates need an Associate's degree in HR management or business administration, coupled with 1-2 years in administrative support, ideally in healthcare. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS platforms, and Google Workspace is essential; familiarity with HIPAA guidelines preferred.
