In Pleasanton, CA, our IT Support Engineer plays a pivotal role in sustaining the reliability of our advanced laboratory and computational infrastructure, directly supporting groundbreaking research workflows. Day-to-day, you will diagnose and resolve hardware malfunctions in Chromium controllers and high-throughput sequencers, minimizing instrument downtime during critical experiments. Collaborate with R&D engineers to deploy software updates across Linux-based analysis pipelines, optimizing data processing for Visium spatial assays. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues in secure lab environments, ensuring compliance with data sovereignty regulations. Field escalated support tickets from field application specialists, integrating remote diagnostics tools to accelerate resolutions. Conduct routine audits of Active Directory and Azure cloud resources, preempting disruptions in our multi-petabyte genomic datasets. Partner with facilities teams to maintain climate-controlled server rooms housing Next GEM technology prototypes. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, coupled with at least three years of hands-on experience in technical support within biotech or life sciences settings. Proficiency in Windows Server administration, Linux command-line operations, and scripting in Python or Bash is essential. Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification strengthens applications. Experience supporting laboratory instrumentation or cloud-integrated systems preferred. Technical expertise extends to configuring VMware virtualization clusters and monitoring tools like Splunk for anomaly detection. Strong analytical mindset pairs with exceptional communication skills to explain intricate fixes to non-technical biologists. Adaptability thrives in our fast-evolving environment, where precision and urgency define success. Our Pleasanton campus fosters a collaborative culture amid Bay Area innovation hubs, with cross-functional teams driving product launches.
