The successful candidate will navigate pre-planned pickup and delivery schedules using GPS-equipped straight trucks, inspecting cargo for secure loading and unloading at manufacturing hubs and retail centers near Smyrna. Daily tasks include conducting thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting load conditions with digital manifests via our proprietary TMS software, and coordinating with dispatch for real-time route adjustments amid traffic or weather variables. Drivers also verify customer signatures and handle minor cargo discrepancies on-site, contributing to seamless supply chain flow for Venture's diverse clientele including automotive parts suppliers and e-commerce distributors. A valid Class A or B CDL with air brakes endorsement is required, alongside at least one year of recent tractor-trailer or straight truck experience in urban-rural mixed routes. High school diploma or equivalent suffices, but familiarity with ELD logging systems and DOT regulations is essential. Clean driving record with no major violations in the past three years mandatory. Core competencies encompass defensive driving techniques, proficient use of routing apps like Google Maps integrated with our fleet system, and meticulous attention to load securement protocols.
