Job Overview & Introduction: FanDuel, a leading fantasy sports platform, is looking for a skilled Data Scientist to drive business growth through data-driven insights. This role is crucial in informing product development and marketing strategies, ultimately enhancing the user experience.
Key Responsibilities & Day-to-Day Tasks: The Data Scientist will analyze large datasets to identify trends and patterns, develop predictive models, and create data visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders. Daily tasks include collaborating with cross-functional teams, designing and implementing A/B tests, and maintaining databases. Weekly, the Data Scientist will attend meetings to discuss project progress and provide recommendations. Monthly, they will deliver comprehensive reports on key performance indicators.
Required Qualifications & Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or Mathematics is required, along with 3+ years of experience in data science. Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL is necessary, as well as experience with machine learning algorithms and data visualization tools.
Preferred Qualifications & Nice-to-Haves: Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure, is a plus. Additionally, knowledge of fantasy sports and the gaming industry is beneficial.
Skills & Competencies: The ideal candidate will have technical skills in data manipulation, statistical modeling, and data visualization, as well as soft skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.
