Job Description

Concorde, Inc. seeks a skilled Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure our critical data systems. Ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity to support business operations across the United States.

Full Description

Join Concorde, Inc. as a Database Administrator and play a pivotal role in safeguarding and optimizing our company's data infrastructure. This position is essential for maintaining the reliability and efficiency of database systems that power our operations, enabling data-driven decisions and supporting business growth in a competitive landscape. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to deliver seamless services to clients nationwide. In this role, you will oversee the daily administration of database environments, including monitoring performance metrics such as query response times, storage utilization, and system uptime to ensure they meet or exceed 99.9% availability targets. Weekly tasks involve conducting routine backups, verifying data integrity through checksum validations, and applying security patches to prevent vulnerabilities. You will collaborate closely with development teams to design and implement database schemas for new applications, tuning queries for optimal performance and creating indexes to accelerate data retrieval. Monthly responsibilities include capacity planning to forecast storage needs, generating compliance reports for audits, and leading disaster recovery drills to minimize downtime risks. Additionally, you will mentor junior staff on best practices, troubleshoot complex issues like deadlock scenarios or replication failures, and contribute to strategic projects such as cloud database migrations, ensuring all deliverables align with departmental KPIs. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in database administration. Proficiency is required in SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL, including advanced skills in query optimization, ETL processes using tools like SSIS or Talend, and high-availability configurations such as Always On or RAC. Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, and Google Cloud SQL is essential, complemented by certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Oracle Certified Professional, or CompTIA Security+. Industry knowledge in data governance, HIPAA compliance for sensitive information, and experience with NoSQL databases like MongoDB will set you apart. Technical proficiency extends to scripting in PowerShell, Python, and T-SQL for automation, alongside expertise in performance monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Prometheus, or Oracle Enterprise Manager. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to meticulous detail, and excellent communication skills are crucial for articulating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating across departments. You should thrive in fast-paced settings, demonstrating leadership in guiding troubleshooting efforts and a commitment to continuous learning in evolving database technologies. Concorde, Inc. is a dynamic technology firm dedicated to innovative solutions that drive client success across industries.
