Full Description
Join Prescient Edge as a Mid Counterintelligence Investigations Desk Officer at Fort George G. Meade, MD, where you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding national security through expert oversight of counterintelligence operations. This position is essential for detecting, assessing, and neutralizing foreign intelligence threats, directly impacting the company's mission to deliver cutting-edge intelligence solutions to government and military clients. Your work will contribute to mission success by providing actionable insights that protect sensitive operations and personnel.
In this dynamic role, you will manage the full lifecycle of counterintelligence investigations, from initial threat reporting to final reporting and briefing. Daily tasks include reviewing incoming counterintelligence reports, prioritizing cases based on risk level, and coordinating with field agents and analysts to gather evidence. Weekly, you will conduct detailed case reviews, update databases with investigation progress, and prepare briefings for senior leadership. Monthly deliverables encompass comprehensive investigation summaries, trend analyses on adversary tactics, and performance metrics such as case closure rates and threat neutralization success. You will collaborate closely with interagency partners, military units, and cyber defense teams, often leading small task forces on high-priority threats. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring junior analysts and ensuring compliance with DoD directives on CI procedures.
To succeed, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Intelligence Studies, Criminal Justice, or a related field, with at least 5-8 years of progressive experience in counterintelligence investigations within the DoD or IC environments. Required expertise includes proficiency in IC databases like CI HUNTER, Sentinel, and Proton, along with skills in threat assessment methodologies and foreign disclosure protocols. A current Top Secret/SCI clearance is mandatory, complemented by certifications such as CI Professional or Defense CI Agent Course completion. Domain knowledge in HUMINT, SIGINT, and counterespionage tactics is essential, ensuring you can handle classified materials and support polygraph-vetted operations effectively.
Beyond technical prowess, you will bring strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to synthesize complex data into clear reports. Excellent communication skills are vital for briefing executives and collaborating across diverse teams, while leadership competencies enable effective team guidance under pressure. Industry-specific abilities, such as recognizing insider threat indicators and applying ODNI standards, will set you apart in this high-stakes field.
