You will collaborate closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and executive leadership to support product launches, mergers, and expansion efforts, delivering risk assessments and legal opinions that drive informed decisions. Monthly, you will manage litigation matters, coordinate with external counsel when needed, and prepare reports on legal metrics like contract turnaround times and compliance audit results. Additionally, you will develop internal policies on data security and employment law, conduct training sessions for staff, and handle corporate governance tasks such as board meeting preparations and SEC filings preparation. This role involves no direct management but offers opportunities to lead special projects like global expansion legal strategies. To succeed, you must hold a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and be an active member in good standing of at least one US state bar, with 3-5 years of in-house counsel or law firm experience in technology or SaaS industries. Proficiency in contract management tools like DocuSign, Ironclad, or ContractWorks is essential, alongside deep knowledge of US commercial law, IP rights, privacy regulations, and corporate transactions. Experience with remote work tools such as Microsoft Teams, Slack, and secure document platforms is required, as is familiarity with litigation support software. Preferred qualifications include certifications in data privacy (CIPP/US) or cybersecurity law.
