Job Description
Join Wholesome Generation as a Full-time Holistic Floater Educator for Grades K-5 in Austin, TX. Float across classrooms to deliver integrated wellness, mindfulness, and academic support, fostering whole-child development in an innovative educational environment.
Full Description
Wholesome Generation is seeking a passionate Holistic Floater Educator for a full-time role serving Kindergarten through 5th grade students in Austin, TX. This dynamic position plays a pivotal role in our mission to nurture well-rounded individuals by integrating holistic wellness practices into daily learning. As a floater, you will support multiple classrooms, enhancing academic instruction with mindfulness, physical health, emotional intelligence, and social-emotional learning, directly impacting student growth and contributing to our innovative educational model that sets us apart in the field.
In this role, you will float between classrooms daily, delivering tailored holistic lessons that blend academics with wellness activities such as guided meditation, yoga sessions, nutrition education, and outdoor experiential learning. Weekly, you will collaborate with lead teachers to co-plan integrated units, assess student progress through observation and feedback, and facilitate small-group interventions for emotional regulation or stress management. Monthly responsibilities include analyzing wellness metrics like student engagement surveys and participation rates, developing new curriculum modules on topics like healthy habits and resilience building, and leading parent workshops on holistic child development. You will partner closely with school administrators, counselors, and wellness coordinators to ensure seamless program implementation, mentor junior educators on holistic teaching methods, and track deliverables such as quarterly wellness reports. Expect hands-on projects like organizing school-wide mindfulness days and contributing to team meetings for continuous improvement, all while modeling a balanced lifestyle for students.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Psychology, or a related field, with Texas teacher certification preferred for grades K-5. At least 2-3 years of elementary teaching experience is required, ideally with exposure to holistic or wellness-based education programs. Proficiency in child assessment tools, classroom management software like Google Classroom or Seesaw, and basic wellness platforms such as mindfulness apps (e.g., Calm for Schools) is essential. Strong knowledge of developmental psychology, social-emotional learning frameworks like CASEL, and child nutrition guidelines is necessary. Montessori or Waldorf training is a plus, along with any certifications in yoga instruction for kids or mindfulness facilitation.
Success in this role demands exceptional adaptability as a floater, navigating diverse classroom dynamics with ease. Key technical skills include lesson planning software and data tracking tools for wellness metrics. Soft skills such as empathetic communication, creative problem-solving, and inspirational leadership are crucial for building student trust and team collaboration. You should excel in fostering inclusive environments, promoting growth mindsets, and integrating holistic principles like mindfulness into core subjects. Industry competencies in progressive education, trauma-informed practices, and child wellness trends will help you thrive.
