Job Description

Shriners Children's seeks a Manager, Real Estate & Miscellaneous Assets in Tampa, FL to oversee property portfolios, asset management, and strategic real estate initiatives. Drive financial performance and support our mission to provide exceptional pediatric care through effective asset utilization.

Full Description

Join Shriners Children's as the Manager of Real Estate & Miscellaneous Assets in Tampa, FL, a pivotal role overseeing the strategic management of our diverse property and asset portfolio. This position plays a crucial part in maximizing the value of real estate holdings and miscellaneous assets, ensuring they align with our mission to advance pediatric healthcare. By optimizing asset performance, you will contribute directly to the financial health of our organization, enabling us to deliver specialized care to children across the nation without financial barriers. In this dynamic role, you will manage the full lifecycle of real estate properties, including acquisition, leasing, maintenance, and disposition strategies. Daily tasks involve reviewing lease agreements, negotiating contracts with vendors and tenants, and conducting market analysis to identify growth opportunities. Weekly, you will collaborate with finance teams to prepare asset performance reports, tracking key metrics such as occupancy rates, rental yields, and maintenance costs. Monthly responsibilities include budgeting for property improvements, overseeing facility inspections, and coordinating with legal teams on compliance issues. You will also supervise a small team of asset coordinators, providing guidance on portfolio optimization projects and delivering quarterly presentations to senior leadership on asset valuation and risk assessments. Expect to handle miscellaneous assets like equipment inventories and intellectual property licensing, ensuring all align with organizational goals through proactive management and stakeholder engagement. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in real estate, finance, business administration, or a related field, with a master's degree or MBA preferred. A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in real estate management, asset portfolio oversight, or facilities management is required, ideally within nonprofit or healthcare sectors. Proficiency in real estate software such as Yardi, MRI, or Argus is essential, along with strong Excel skills for financial modeling. Knowledge of Florida real estate laws, zoning regulations, and appraisal standards is critical. Relevant certifications like Certified Property Manager (CPM), Real Property Administrator (RPA), or CCIM designation will set you apart. Experience managing diverse asset classes beyond traditional real estate, such as equipment and specialty assets, is highly desirable. Success demands expertise in financial analysis, contract negotiation, and property valuation techniques, complemented by familiarity with sustainable building practices and ESG reporting. Soft skills are paramount: exceptional communication to liaise with executives and vendors, strategic leadership to guide teams, and analytical prowess for data-driven decisions. You should thrive in fast-paced environments, demonstrating problem-solving acumen, attention to detail, and a commitment to ethical practices in asset stewardship. Shriners Children's is a premier pediatric healthcare network with 22 hospitals nationwide, dedicated to transforming lives through innovative treatments for children with orthopedic conditions, burns, spinal cord injuries, and cleft lip/palate. Our Tampa location is part of a collaborative, mission-driven culture emphasizing compassion, excellence, and teamwork. We foster an inclusive environment where employees are empowered to innovate, supported by a flat organizational structure that encourages open communication and cross-departmental partnerships.
