Job Description
Luxer One is seeking a reliable Package Returns Driver in Seattle, WA to manage the pickup and return of customer packages from secure lockers. This role ensures efficient logistics, exceptional customer service, and smooth operations in our innovative package delivery system.
Full Description
Join Luxer One as a Package Returns Driver and play a vital role in our cutting-edge package management solutions. This position is essential for maintaining seamless returns processes, ensuring customer satisfaction, and supporting our mission to revolutionize package delivery through smart locker technology. Your daily efforts will directly contribute to operational efficiency and the company's growth in the logistics sector.
As a Package Returns Driver, your day-to-day tasks will revolve around efficient package handling and transportation. You will drive a company vehicle to various locker locations across Seattle to pick up returned packages from customers, inspect them for condition and accuracy, and log details into our digital tracking system. Daily routes will involve coordinating with locker technicians to access secure compartments, scanning barcodes for inventory management, and ensuring all returns are properly packaged for transport back to our central warehouse. Weekly, you will compile route reports, perform basic vehicle maintenance checks like tire pressure and fluid levels, and collaborate with the logistics team to optimize pickup schedules based on return volumes. Monthly responsibilities include participating in team meetings to review performance metrics such as on-time pickups (targeting 98% compliance), package handling accuracy, and fuel efficiency. You will also assist in training new drivers on safety protocols and handle customer inquiries at locker sites when needed, fostering collaboration with customer service and warehouse departments. Delivering high-quality returns processing, you will contribute to key metrics like reducing return turnaround time to under 48 hours and minimizing loss rates below 0.5%.
To succeed in this role, candidates must possess a valid Washington state driver's license with a clean driving record, including no more than one at-fault accident in the past three years. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with at least one year of professional driving experience in urban environments, preferably in logistics or delivery services. Familiarity with GPS navigation tools, handheld scanners, and basic warehouse management software is essential. Knowledge of Seattle-area traffic patterns and parking regulations is highly valued, as is any experience with package sorting or returns processing. A commercial driver's license (CDL) is not required, but forklift certification is a plus for occasional warehouse support. Physical fitness is necessary to lift packages up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical proficiency with mobile apps for route optimization and inventory tracking, alongside excellent time management to handle dynamic schedules. Soft skills such as clear communication for coordinating with teams and customers, problem-solving for on-route issues like traffic delays, and a safety-first mindset are crucial. Attention to detail ensures accurate package documentation, while customer-oriented competencies help resolve return discrepancies efficiently. Adaptability to varying weather conditions and peak return periods, combined with teamwork in a fast-paced logistics environment, will set you apart.
