Full Description
Innoventrics is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee our aerospace manufacturing facility in Waterbury, CT. This pivotal leadership role drives operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth, directly impacting our position as a leader in high-precision aerospace components. You will shape the future of our production processes, ensuring we deliver world-class products to defense and commercial aviation clients while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and efficiency.
As General Manager, your day-to-day involves directing all manufacturing activities, from production planning to quality control. You will develop and execute strategic plans to meet production targets, optimize workflows, and reduce costs, monitoring key metrics like on-time delivery rates above 98%, yield improvements, and inventory turnover. Weekly, conduct team meetings to align departments on goals, review performance dashboards, and address bottlenecks in assembly lines or CNC machining processes. Monthly, prepare executive reports on KPIs, budget adherence, and capital expenditure proposals for equipment upgrades. Lead cross-functional teams including engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance, collaborating with suppliers for just-in-time inventory and stakeholders for new program launches. Oversee a staff of 100+, handling hiring, training, performance evaluations, and succession planning to build high-performing teams. Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma methodologies, spearheading projects that enhance throughput by 20% or more. Ensure compliance with AS9100 standards, FAA regulations, and OSHA safety protocols through regular audits and risk assessments.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business Administration, with a Master's or MBA preferred, and at least 10-15 years of progressive experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles. Expertise in ERP systems like SAP or Epicor, CAD/CAM software, and advanced manufacturing technologies such as additive manufacturing and automation is essential. Proven track record in managing multi-million-dollar P&L, with deep knowledge of aerospace supply chain dynamics, ITAR compliance, and precision machining processes. Professional certifications including PMP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, or ASQ Certified Manager are highly desirable.
Success demands strong technical acumen in aerospace processes paired with exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills. You excel in strategic thinking, problem-solving under pressure, and fostering collaboration across diverse teams. Outstanding communication abilities enable clear articulation of vision to executives and staff alike, while a results-oriented mindset drives accountability and innovation. Adaptability to fast-paced environments and a commitment to ethical practices round out the core competencies needed to thrive.
Innoventrics is a forward-thinking aerospace manufacturer dedicated to pioneering precision components that power next-generation aircraft. Our mission emphasizes innovation, integrity, and customer success, supported by core values of excellence, teamwork, and sustainability. With a 150-person team in a modern Waterbury facility, we cultivate a collaborative, inclusive culture featuring open-door leadership, regular team-building events, and a focus on work-life balance in a high-tech setting.
We offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience, as salary details are not specified but aligned with industry standards for senior roles. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match up to 6%, life and disability coverage, and generous PTO starting at 25 days annually. Additional perks feature performance bonuses up to 20% of base, professional development stipends, flexible scheduling, and employee stock purchase plans to reward long-term commitment.
