In this pivotal role, you will oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of database systems, ensuring robust data management, high availability, and security across enterprise-level applications. Key Responsibilities: You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and upgrading database servers such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL to meet organizational needs. Monitor database performance using advanced tools, troubleshoot issues, and implement tuning strategies to optimize query response times and resource utilization. Perform regular backups, recovery procedures, and disaster recovery planning to safeguard data integrity and minimize downtime. Manage user access, permissions, and security protocols to comply with industry standards like GDPR and HIPAA. Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and stakeholders to design efficient database schemas, support data migration projects, and integrate with cloud platforms like AWS RDS or Azure SQL. Conduct capacity planning, performance audits, and generate reports on database health and usage trends. Stay current with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and scalability. Required Qualifications: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, along with at least 5 years of hands-on experience as a Database Administrator. Proven expertise in relational database management systems (RDBMS) including SQL Server, Oracle, or NoSQL databases like MongoDB. Strong knowledge of database backup, recovery, and high-availability configurations such as clustering and replication. Familiarity with scripting languages like SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell, or Python for automation tasks. Experience with cloud database services and virtualization technologies is highly preferred. Skills: Proficiency in performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization. Excellent problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail and proactive approach to identifying potential issues. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with technical and non-technical teams. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting, managing multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or similar are advantageous.
