Job Description
BAR Architects & Interiors seeks a dynamic HR + Office Assistant in Los Angeles, CA to support talent management, office operations, and administrative functions. Join our innovative team to drive efficiency and contribute to award-winning architectural projects.
Full Description
At BAR Architects & Interiors, the HR + Office Assistant plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless operations across our dynamic Los Angeles studio. This position bridges human resources and office management, supporting our team of creative professionals in delivering exceptional architectural and interior design solutions. By handling essential administrative tasks and HR support, you will directly contribute to our firm's ability to foster a productive, collaborative environment that drives innovative projects from concept to completion. Your efforts will enhance team morale, streamline workflows, and allow our architects to focus on groundbreaking designs that shape urban landscapes.
In your daily routine, you will manage HR functions such as onboarding new hires with orientation sessions, maintaining employee records in HR software, and coordinating recruitment efforts by screening resumes and scheduling interviews with department leads. Weekly tasks include processing payroll updates, organizing team meetings, and ordering office supplies to keep our collaborative spaces fully stocked. Monthly, you will assist with performance review preparations, track benefits enrollment, and generate reports on employee metrics like turnover rates and attendance. You will collaborate closely with architects, designers, and executives, handling vendor communications for office maintenance and supporting event planning for firm-wide gatherings. Additionally, you will oversee office inventory, manage mail distribution, and ensure compliance with workplace safety protocols, delivering high accuracy in all tasks to support our project deadlines.
Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, supplemented by at least 2-3 years of experience in HR or office administration within creative industries like architecture or design firms. Proficiency in HRIS systems such as BambooHR or Workday, Microsoft Office Suite, and Google Workspace is essential, along with familiarity with California labor laws. Relevant certifications like PHR or SHRM-CP are highly valued, providing a strong foundation for handling sensitive employee data and recruitment processes effectively.
Success in this role demands exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced creative environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for interacting with diverse stakeholders, while attention to detail ensures error-free documentation. You should exhibit proactive problem-solving, discretion with confidential information, and a team-oriented mindset that thrives on collaboration. Proficiency in tools like QuickBooks for basic accounting and Slack for internal communications will set you apart, complemented by adaptability to support evolving project needs.
