Full Description
Innoventrics is seeking an exceptional General Manager to lead our aerospace manufacturing operations in New Hartford, CT. This pivotal role drives the company's success by overseeing production processes, ensuring quality standards, and fostering innovation in a high-stakes industry. The General Manager will have a profound impact on operational efficiency, team performance, and our position as a leader in aerospace components, contributing directly to revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
In this role, you will oversee daily production schedules, manage manufacturing teams, and optimize workflows to meet demanding aerospace deadlines. Weekly, conduct performance reviews, analyze production metrics like yield rates and downtime, and implement lean manufacturing initiatives to reduce costs by up to 15%. Monthly, develop strategic plans, collaborate with engineering and quality assurance departments to launch new product lines, and report KPIs to senior executives. Lead cross-functional teams in root cause analysis for defects, ensure FAA compliance through rigorous audits, mentor supervisors on safety protocols, and negotiate with suppliers for material cost savings. Drive continuous improvement projects, such as Six Sigma implementations, and manage capital equipment investments exceeding $500K annually, all while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field, with a Master's preferred. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in aerospace manufacturing is required, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles overseeing multi-shift operations. Proficiency in ERP systems like SAP or Epicor, CAD software such as SolidWorks, and quality management tools like Minitab is essential. Deep knowledge of AS9100 standards, GD&T, and aerospace materials like titanium alloys and composites is mandatory. Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, PMP, or CMfgE will set you apart.
Success demands strong technical acumen in advanced manufacturing processes, coupled with exceptional leadership and communication skills to inspire diverse teams. Strategic thinking, problem-solving under pressure, and negotiation expertise are critical, alongside adaptability to fast-paced environments and a commitment to safety and innovation. Proficiency in data analytics for operational insights and vendor management rounds out the ideal profile.
