Job Description
SupplyCore seeks a Military Account Manager - Air Force in Bedford, MA to manage key Air Force contracts, drive sales growth, and ensure mission-critical supply chain support. Join our team to deliver superior solutions for defense needs.
Full Description
As the Military Account Manager for the Air Force at SupplyCore, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening our partnerships with one of the nation's most vital defense branches. This position is crucial for driving revenue growth, optimizing supply chain operations, and ensuring that Air Force personnel receive reliable, high-quality supplies to support national security missions. Your strategic oversight will directly contribute to SupplyCore's reputation as a trusted government contractor, fostering long-term relationships and expanding our footprint in the military sector.
In this dynamic role, you will manage the full lifecycle of Air Force accounts, from initial contract bidding to ongoing performance delivery. Daily tasks include reviewing procurement requests, coordinating with logistics teams to fulfill orders on time, and analyzing usage data to forecast demand accurately. Weekly, you will conduct stakeholder meetings with Air Force base representatives, address any supply discrepancies, and prepare reports on key performance indicators such as order fulfillment rates and cost savings achieved. Monthly responsibilities encompass developing account strategies, negotiating contract renewals, and collaborating with internal sales, operations, and finance departments to align on goals. You will lead cross-functional projects, such as implementing new inventory management systems tailored for military needs, track metrics like on-time delivery (targeting 98%+), customer satisfaction scores, and revenue per account. Additionally, you will mentor junior team members and represent SupplyCore at industry events to identify expansion opportunities.
To succeed, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field, with a preference for military or government contracting experience. A minimum of 5-7 years in account management, preferably within defense or federal sectors, is required, along with proven success in managing multi-million-dollar contracts. Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) processes, and ERP systems like SAP or Oracle is essential. Certifications such as Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) are highly desired. Strong analytical skills for handling complex datasets and experience with Air Force-specific procurement tools will set you apart.
Beyond technical expertise, you need exceptional communication skills to interface with high-level military officers and internal teams effectively. Leadership abilities are key for guiding projects and influencing stakeholders, while problem-solving prowess ensures quick resolution of supply chain disruptions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM platforms like Salesforce, and data visualization tools such as Tableau is expected. Industry knowledge of military logistics, compliance standards, and emerging defense technologies will enable you to provide consultative value to clients.
