Job Description
SupplyCore seeks a Military Account Manager in Virginia Beach, VA to drive sales and relationships with military clients. Manage accounts, deliver solutions, and ensure mission success in the government-military sector.
Full Description
Join SupplyCore as a Military Account Manager and play a pivotal role in supporting U.S. military operations through strategic account management and supply chain excellence. This position is crucial for fostering long-term partnerships with defense clients, ensuring they receive reliable, high-quality supplies that directly impact mission readiness and operational efficiency. Your expertise will contribute to SupplyCore's reputation as a trusted partner in the government-military sector, driving revenue growth and customer satisfaction in a dynamic environment.
As a Military Account Manager, your day-to-day involves cultivating and expanding relationships with key military decision-makers, including procurement officers and base commanders. You will conduct regular needs assessments to identify supply requirements, negotiate contracts for logistics, equipment, and mission-critical materials, and coordinate with internal teams to deliver customized solutions on time. Weekly tasks include reviewing account performance metrics such as order fulfillment rates, customer retention scores, and revenue targets, while preparing detailed reports for leadership. Monthly, you will lead strategic planning sessions, participate in defense industry trade shows, and collaborate with sales, operations, and logistics departments to resolve issues and optimize supply chains. Expect to manage a portfolio of 20-30 accounts, track key performance indicators like 95% on-time delivery, and drive upsell opportunities through value-added services. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring junior team members and representing SupplyCore in high-stakes client meetings.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, with at least 5-7 years of progressive experience in military or government account management. Proven track record in defense contracting, familiarity with FAR/DFARS regulations, and experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle are essential. Industry knowledge of DoD procurement processes, GSA schedules, and military logistics is required. Certifications such as Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) credentials are highly preferred. Strong understanding of supply chain disruptions and compliance with ITAR export controls is mandatory.
Success in this role demands exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written, to navigate complex stakeholder environments. Technical proficiency in CRM tools like Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analytics platforms is critical, alongside soft skills such as strategic thinking, problem-solving under pressure, and adaptability to shifting military priorities. Industry-specific competencies include deep knowledge of military supply chains, negotiation tactics for government bids, and the ability to translate technical specifications into client value propositions.
