Job Description
SupplyCore seeks a Military Account Manager in San Diego, CA to oversee key military client relationships, drive sales growth, and ensure seamless supply chain solutions for defense operations. Play a pivotal role in supporting national security through strategic account management.
Full Description
Join SupplyCore as a Military Account Manager in San Diego, CA, where you will serve as the vital link between our innovative supply chain solutions and critical military clients. This role is essential for driving revenue growth, fostering long-term partnerships, and ensuring the seamless delivery of mission-critical supplies that support national defense operations. Your expertise will directly impact SupplyCore's position as a trusted government contractor, contributing to operational excellence and client satisfaction in the defense sector.
In this dynamic position, you will manage a portfolio of military accounts, conducting regular needs assessments and developing customized supply strategies to meet unique defense requirements. Daily tasks include responding to RFQs, negotiating contracts, and coordinating with internal teams to fulfill orders efficiently, while tracking key performance metrics such as order fulfillment rates, client retention, and revenue targets. Weekly, you will lead client meetings, analyze market trends in military procurement, and collaborate with sales, logistics, and procurement departments to resolve issues and optimize delivery timelines. Monthly responsibilities encompass preparing detailed account reports, forecasting sales pipelines, and presenting strategic recommendations to senior leadership. You will also mentor junior team members on account management best practices and spearhead initiatives to expand service offerings, such as inventory management systems tailored for military logistics.
To succeed, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field, with at least 5-7 years of progressive experience in account management within the government or military sector. Proven track record in federal contracting, familiarity with DFARS regulations, and experience with ERP systems like SAP or Oracle are required. Industry certifications such as Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) credentials are highly preferred. Strong knowledge of military supply chains, including GSA schedules and FAR compliance, is essential, along with demonstrated success in managing multimillion-dollar accounts.
The ideal candidate excels in technical skills like CRM software proficiency (e.g., Salesforce), advanced Excel for data analysis, and supply chain modeling tools. Soft skills are paramount, including exceptional communication for high-stakes negotiations, strategic thinking to anticipate client needs, and leadership to influence cross-functional teams. You should demonstrate resilience in fast-paced environments, keen attention to detail for compliance-heavy tasks, and a results-oriented mindset with the ability to build trust in sensitive defense relationships.
