Job Description
SupplyCore seeks a Military Account Manager - Air Force in Hampton, VA to manage key relationships and drive sales for Air Force programs. Leverage your expertise to ensure mission-critical supply solutions and achieve revenue targets.
Full Description
Join SupplyCore as a Military Account Manager dedicated to the Air Force, a pivotal role in strengthening our partnerships with one of the nation's premier defense branches. This position is essential for delivering tailored supply chain solutions that support Air Force missions, enhancing operational readiness and contributing significantly to our company's growth in the government-military sector. Your strategic efforts will directly impact SupplyCore's reputation as a trusted provider of mission-critical supplies, fostering long-term contracts and revenue expansion in a competitive landscape.
In this dynamic role, you will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with Air Force procurement officers, base commanders, and logistics teams at key installations around Hampton, VA and beyond. Daily tasks include responding to RFQs, preparing customized proposals for aviation parts, ground support equipment, and sustainment materials, and negotiating contracts to meet fiscal year budgets. Weekly, you'll conduct account reviews, analyze usage data to forecast demand, and collaborate with internal sales engineers and product specialists to develop value-added solutions like just-in-time inventory programs. Monthly responsibilities encompass delivering performance reports on key metrics such as order fulfillment rates above 98%, customer satisfaction scores, and revenue growth targets typically set at 15-20% YoY. You will lead cross-functional teams for major bids, mentor junior account reps on Air Force protocols, and participate in industry events like AUSA conferences to identify expansion opportunities. Expect to travel 20-30% to bases for face-to-face meetings, ensuring alignment with DoD acquisition regulations and ITAR compliance.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field, with a preference for MBA or defense acquisition certifications like DAWIA Level II. We require at least 5-7 years of direct experience in military account management, ideally with Air Force or DoD contracts, demonstrating a track record of securing $5M+ annual accounts. Proficiency in FAR/DFARS regulations, CRM tools like Salesforce, ERP systems such as SAP, and Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Deep knowledge of Air Force supply chains, including PLADS and DLA processes, is critical, along with U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Secret clearance. Prior experience with GSA schedules and HUBZone certifications will set you apart.
Success demands exceptional relationship-building and communication skills to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics, paired with analytical prowess for data-driven forecasting using tools like Tableau. You should exhibit strategic thinking to identify upselling opportunities in aviation logistics and resilience planning, alongside leadership to guide project teams. Technical competencies include expertise in defense procurement software and inventory optimization algorithms, while soft skills like adaptability to shifting priorities and resilience under pressure are vital in this high-stakes environment.
