OpenTable seeks a Marketing Specialist in Brand Strategy to shape our global brand narrative and drive diner engagement. Join our innovative team to craft compelling strategies that elevate the dining experience worldwide.

Full Description

At OpenTable, the Marketing Specialist in Brand Strategy plays a pivotal role in defining and amplifying our brand's voice in the competitive dining industry. This position is crucial for building emotional connections with millions of diners and restaurant partners, directly impacting customer loyalty, market share, and revenue growth through innovative brand initiatives that resonate across digital and traditional channels. As a Marketing Specialist in Brand Strategy, your day-to-day involves developing and executing comprehensive brand strategies aligned with OpenTable's business goals. You will conduct market research and competitive analysis weekly to identify trends, then translate insights into actionable brand positioning documents and creative briefs delivered monthly. Daily tasks include collaborating with creative teams to refine messaging, reviewing brand assets for consistency, and tracking performance metrics like brand awareness scores and engagement rates using tools such as Google Analytics and Brandwatch. Weekly, you'll lead cross-functional meetings with product, sales, and restaurant success teams to align on campaigns, while monthly projects encompass launching brand refresh initiatives, A/B testing visual identities, and reporting on KPIs including Net Promoter Score improvements and social media sentiment. You may also mentor junior marketers on brand guidelines, ensuring all deliverables—from email campaigns to partnership activations—uphold our premium dining ethos. To succeed in this role, candidates need a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, with at least 4-6 years of progressive experience in brand strategy or marketing within tech or consumer-facing industries. Proficiency in tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma for asset creation, and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics, Tableau, or SimilarWeb is essential. Deep knowledge of the hospitality and restaurant sectors, including diner behavior and digital trends, is required, along with any relevant certifications like Google Analytics or HubSpot Inbound Marketing. Strong experience managing brand guidelines across multi-channel campaigns sets top candidates apart. Beyond technical expertise, this role demands exceptional communication skills to articulate brand vision to diverse stakeholders, creative problem-solving to navigate market challenges, and analytical prowess to derive insights from data. You should thrive in collaborative environments, exhibiting leadership in guiding creative direction and adaptability to fast-paced shifts in consumer preferences. Passion for storytelling and a keen eye for design will enable you to craft narratives that inspire loyalty in the dining space. OpenTable, a leader in restaurant discovery and reservations, empowers diners to find and book unforgettable meals while helping restaurants thrive. Our mission is to connect people with great dining experiences, guided by values of innovation, inclusivity, and customer obsession. With a dynamic, global team structured around agile pods, we foster a collaborative culture blending remote flexibility with in-person energy in our vibrant offices, making us a top workplace for creative marketers. We offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience, as salary details are not specified in the posting. Comprehensive benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and generous PTO starting at 20 days annually. Additional perks feature flexible hybrid work options, wellness stipends, stock options, performance bonuses, and employee dining credits, ensuring work-life balance and long-term financial growth. Advance your career through mentorship programs, leadership tracks into senior brand roles, and access to conferences like SXSW or Marketing Week. Invest in growth via LinkedIn Learning subscriptions and internal skill-sharing. To apply, submit your resume and portfolio via our careers page—join us in redefining dining today.
