Job Description
Magic Spoon seeks a Senior National Account Manager to drive strategic partnerships with Costco and BJ's, optimizing sales and distribution of our innovative, low-carb cereals. Play a pivotal role in expanding market presence and achieving revenue goals in the competitive CPG sector.
Full Description
Join Magic Spoon as our Senior National Account Manager for Costco and BJ's, a critical leadership role driving our growth in the nation's top warehouse clubs. This position offers the chance to shape partnerships with industry giants, directly impacting our revenue and brand visibility in the fast-paced consumer packaged goods landscape. With Magic Spoon's mission to revolutionize breakfast through delicious, nutritious cereals, you'll leverage your expertise to secure shelf space, innovate product assortments, and boost sales performance, contributing significantly to our trajectory as a category disruptor.
In this dynamic role, you'll develop and execute comprehensive account strategies tailored to Costco and BJ's unique business models, negotiating contracts, pricing, and promotional programs to maximize volume and profitability. Daily tasks include analyzing sales data, forecasting demand, and monitoring inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability across hundreds of locations. Weekly, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams—such as marketing, supply chain, and product development—to align on joint business plans, launch new SKUs, and execute in-store merchandising initiatives. Monthly responsibilities encompass preparing performance reviews with detailed KPIs like sell-through rates, market share growth, and promotional ROI, presenting insights to senior leadership and retailer buyers. You'll also manage trade spend budgets, resolve supply chain issues, and foster long-term relationships with key buyer stakeholders through regular business updates and strategic planning sessions. Expect to travel 30-40% for store visits, trade shows, and headquarters meetings, ensuring alignment between Magic Spoon's innovative product pipeline and retailer priorities.
Success requires a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, complemented by 8-10 years of progressive experience in national account management within CPG, ideally with warehouse club retailers like Costco or BJ's. Proven track record in negotiating multimillion-dollar agreements and driving double-digit sales growth is essential. Proficiency in sales analytics tools such as IRI, Nielsen, or Tableau, along with advanced Excel modeling for forecasting and P&L analysis, is mandatory. Deep knowledge of retail operations, category management principles, and trade marketing strategies in the food and beverage sector sets top candidates apart. While not required, certifications like CPSM or experience with SAP ERP systems are advantageous.
Beyond technical prowess, you'll bring exceptional relationship-building skills to cultivate trust with retail partners, paired with strong analytical abilities to translate data into actionable strategies. Outstanding communication and presentation skills are vital for articulating complex business cases to diverse audiences, from C-suite executives to field merchandisers. Strategic thinking, resilience under pressure, and a results-oriented mindset will enable you to navigate competitive landscapes and deliver consistent wins. Your collaborative spirit will thrive in Magic Spoon's agile environment, where innovation and ownership are celebrated.
