Full Description
At JTS, our Electrical Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and optimizing electrical systems that power our hardware innovations. This position is crucial for advancing our product lines, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards, directly impacting our company's growth and market leadership in the engineering sector.
As an Electrical Engineer at JTS, you will dive into a variety of hands-on tasks daily, such as schematic capture, PCB layout design using tools like Altium Designer, and prototyping circuits for testing. Weekly, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, firmware developers, and project managers to integrate electrical systems into full hardware assemblies, troubleshoot issues, and refine designs based on feedback. Monthly responsibilities include conducting thorough performance analyses, generating detailed reports on key metrics like power efficiency and signal integrity, and leading design reviews to meet project milestones. You'll also oversee component selection for cost-effectiveness and reliability, simulate circuits with SPICE software, and support manufacturing transitions by creating assembly documentation and resolving production challenges. Expect to mentor junior engineers on best practices and contribute to R&D initiatives for next-generation products, ensuring all deliverables align with timelines and budgets.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with at least 5 years of progressive experience in hardware design. Proficiency in EDA tools such as Altium, OrCAD, or KiCad is essential, alongside strong knowledge of analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and embedded systems. Familiarity with microcontrollers like ARM Cortex or AVR, FPGA programming with VHDL/Verilog, and industry standards including IPC and UL is required. Professional certifications such as PE license or Six Sigma are highly valued, along with hands-on experience in high-speed PCB design and EMI/EMC compliance testing.
Beyond technical prowess, success demands excellent problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and effective communication skills for presenting complex concepts to stakeholders. You should thrive in collaborative environments, demonstrating leadership in guiding projects and adaptability to evolving technologies. Industry competencies in hardware prototyping, failure analysis, and agile development methodologies will set you apart, enabling seamless contributions to our dynamic engineering culture.
