Full Description
Join LinkedIn as the Senior Director of Workplace Strategy and Real Estate, a pivotal leadership role that shapes the future of our global workspaces. This position drives transformative strategies aligning workplace environments with our mission to connect professionals worldwide, directly impacting employee satisfaction, productivity, and company expansion. By optimizing real estate assets and fostering innovative office designs, you'll play a key role in creating dynamic spaces that inspire collaboration and innovation across our organization.
In this role, you'll develop and execute comprehensive workplace strategies, including portfolio optimization and space utilization planning. Daily tasks involve analyzing occupancy data, forecasting real estate needs, and negotiating leases to ensure cost-effective solutions. Weekly, collaborate with HR, facilities, and executive teams to align workplace initiatives with business objectives, reviewing metrics like utilization rates and employee feedback scores. Monthly, lead portfolio reviews, oversee capital projects such as office renovations, and present strategic recommendations to C-suite leaders. Manage a team of real estate specialists, guiding them on market analysis, vendor negotiations, and sustainability integrations. Key deliverables include annual real estate budgets, risk assessments, and innovation projects like hybrid work models, ensuring agility in a fast-evolving work landscape. You'll spearhead cross-functional partnerships to implement employee-centric designs, tracking success through KPIs such as reduced vacancy rates and improved Net Promoter Scores.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in real estate, business administration, architecture, or a related field, with an MBA or advanced certification like CRE or SIOR strongly preferred. We require 12+ years of progressive experience in corporate real estate, workplace strategy, or facilities management, including at least 5 years in senior leadership roles managing multimillion-dollar portfolios. Expertise in real estate software such as Argus, MRI, or Tableau for data analytics is essential, alongside proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit for space planning. Deep knowledge of commercial real estate markets, lease structures, and regulatory compliance in California is critical. Proven track record in strategic planning, transaction management, and portfolio optimization is necessary.
Success demands strong analytical skills for data-driven decision-making and portfolio forecasting, paired with technical proficiency in real estate management platforms and visualization tools. Exceptional leadership and communication abilities are vital for influencing stakeholders and leading diverse teams. Strategic thinking, adaptability to hybrid work trends, and a passion for employee experience design set top candidates apart, along with negotiation prowess and sustainability expertise in green building practices.

Our mission drives a collaborative culture valuing innovation, inclusivity, and growth. This role sits within a dynamic Real Estate and Workplace team in a hybrid Sunnyvale headquarters, blending cutting-edge tech with creative workspaces that reflect our vibrant community.

Enjoy perks like stock options, wellness programs, flexible hybrid schedules, parental leave, and learning stipends.
