Join Grubhub's People Operations Support team in New York, NY, to provide essential HR support for restaurant partners in the dynamic food delivery industry. Assist with onboarding, compliance, and operational needs to drive seamless experiences for merchants and employees.

Full Description

At Grubhub, the People Operations Support role is pivotal in ensuring our restaurant partners and internal teams thrive in the fast-paced food delivery ecosystem. This position directly impacts company success by streamlining HR processes, fostering positive employee experiences, and supporting scalable growth as we connect millions of diners with local favorites across New York and beyond. You'll contribute to a culture of efficiency and innovation, helping Grubhub maintain its position as a leader in restaurant technology. In this role, you'll handle a variety of day-to-day tasks essential to people operations. Daily, you'll respond to employee inquiries via email, chat, and phone, resolving issues related to payroll, benefits enrollment, and policy questions with accuracy and empathy. Weekly, you'll process onboarding paperwork for new restaurant partners and internal hires, ensuring all documentation complies with New York labor laws. You'll collaborate closely with HR business partners, restaurant operations teams, and finance departments to audit employee records and generate compliance reports. Monthly, you'll assist in performance review cycles by preparing data dashboards using tools like Google Workspace and HRIS platforms, tracking key metrics such as turnover rates and engagement scores. Additional responsibilities include supporting recruitment efforts by scheduling interviews and conducting reference checks, managing offboarding processes to secure company assets, and leading small projects like benefits open enrollment communications. Expect to deliver high-volume tasks while maintaining confidentiality and adapting to seasonal peaks in restaurant partner activations. To succeed, candidates need a bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. At least 2-3 years in HR support, people operations, or administrative roles within tech, retail, or restaurant industries is required. Proficiency in HR software such as Workday, BambooHR, or ADP, along with advanced Microsoft Excel for data analysis, is essential. Familiarity with New York State employment regulations, including wage and hour laws, is crucial. Certifications like SHRM-CP or PHR are highly preferred, demonstrating commitment to best practices in talent management. Beyond technical expertise, you'll bring strong organizational skills to juggle multiple priorities in a high-growth environment. Excellent verbal and written communication is key for interacting with diverse stakeholders, from restaurant owners to corporate executives. Problem-solving abilities and a customer-service mindset will help you navigate complex employee relations issues empathetically. Proficiency in collaboration tools like Slack, Zoom, and Asana ensures seamless teamwork, while adaptability and attention to detail support accurate record-keeping and process improvements. Grubhub is revolutionizing food delivery by empowering independent restaurants with cutting-edge technology and operational support. Our mission is to connect hungry customers with their favorite local eateries, fostering a vibrant community of over 30,000 partners nationwide. The People Operations team operates in a collaborative, inclusive environment in our modern New York office, blending innovative problem-solving with a fun, foodie culture that celebrates diversity and work-life balance. We offer competitive compensation, though salary details are not specified at this time, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and generous PTO starting at 15 days annually. Additional perks feature flexible hybrid work arrangements, commuter benefits for NYC transit, employee discounts on Grubhub orders, wellness stipends, and parental leave. Opportunities for performance bonuses and stock options enhance total rewards. Growth is at the heart of Grubhub; advance from support specialist to HR generalist or operations manager through mentorship and internal mobility.
