Full Description
Join Ferreira Construction Co., Inc. as an Assistant Project Manager and play a pivotal role in driving the success of our construction projects. This position is essential for ensuring seamless project delivery, fostering collaboration across teams, and contributing to our reputation for excellence in the construction industry. You'll support senior managers in overseeing operations that impact our clients, stakeholders, and community, helping us build infrastructure that stands the test of time.
In this role, you'll assist in planning and coordinating all phases of construction projects, from inception to completion. Daily tasks include reviewing project schedules, tracking progress against milestones, and updating status reports to ensure deadlines are met. Weekly, you'll conduct site visits to monitor construction activities, identify potential delays, and coordinate with subcontractors for material deliveries and quality checks. Monthly responsibilities involve preparing budget reports, analyzing cost variances, and forecasting expenses to maintain financial health. You'll collaborate closely with project engineers, architects, and field crews to resolve issues proactively, while also managing documentation such as RFIs, change orders, and as-built drawings. Leadership duties include mentoring junior staff, facilitating team meetings, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols, all while delivering projects that exceed key performance metrics like on-time completion rates above 95% and budget adherence within 5%.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, with at least 2-4 years of progressive experience in construction project coordination. Proficiency in project management software like Procore, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project is required, along with strong knowledge of construction methodologies, blueprints, and OSHA safety standards. Familiarity with facilities construction, including HVAC, electrical, and structural systems, is essential. Relevant certifications such as CCPM or LEED accreditation are highly preferred, ensuring you can hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment.
Success demands technical expertise in scheduling tools and AutoCAD, paired with soft skills like exceptional communication for stakeholder updates and negotiation with vendors. You'll exhibit strong problem-solving abilities to handle unforeseen site challenges, leadership to motivate teams, and attention to detail for accurate reporting. Industry competencies in sustainable building practices and risk management will set you apart, enabling you to thrive in our collaborative, results-oriented culture.
