Job Description
ABcom LLC seeks a skilled Telecommunications Foreman in Phoenix, AZ, to lead installation, maintenance, and repair teams for telecom infrastructure. Oversee projects, ensure safety compliance, and deliver high-quality results to support reliable network services.
Full Description
Join ABcom LLC as a Telecommunications Foreman and take charge of critical telecommunications projects that keep Phoenix connected. This pivotal role drives the successful execution of installations, upgrades, and maintenance, directly impacting our ability to deliver robust network services to clients across residential, commercial, and enterprise sectors. Your leadership will ensure operational excellence, fostering growth and reliability in a fast-paced industry.
As a Telecommunications Foreman, your day-to-day involves supervising field crews in the deployment of fiber optic cables, copper lines, and wireless systems. You will plan and coordinate daily tasks, such as trenching, splicing, testing signal integrity, and troubleshooting network outages, aiming for 99% uptime metrics. Weekly, you'll review project progress, conduct safety audits, and collaborate with engineers and project managers to adjust timelines and resources. Monthly responsibilities include inventory management of tools and materials, generating performance reports on deliverables like miles of cable laid or connections activated, and training team members on best practices. Leading a team of 5-10 technicians, you'll mentor juniors, resolve on-site conflicts, and ensure all work adheres to industry standards and deadlines, while partnering with vendors for specialized equipment needs.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED, supplemented by relevant vocational training in telecommunications or electrical systems. At least 5 years of hands-on experience in telecom field operations is required, including 2+ years in a supervisory capacity. Proficiency with tools like OTDRs, fusion splicers, cable locators, and multimeters is essential, alongside knowledge of standards such as NEC, OSHA, and BICSI. A valid driver's license, OSHA 10/30 certification, and familiarity with telecom protocols like GPON and Ethernet are mandatory. Industry expertise in fiber optics, outside plant construction, and low-voltage systems will set you apart.
Technical expertise in telecom installation software, blueprint reading, and safety protocols is crucial, paired with soft skills like strong communication for team briefings and client updates, decisive leadership during high-pressure scenarios, and meticulous problem-solving to minimize downtime. You should excel in time management to juggle multiple projects and demonstrate adaptability to evolving technologies like 5G and FTTH deployments.
