Job Description

Perry Homes is seeking an IT Support Specialist in Plano, TX to provide essential technical support for our systems and users. Join our team to troubleshoot issues, maintain infrastructure, and ensure seamless operations for our innovative homebuilding company.

Full Description

At Perry Homes, the IT Support Specialist plays a pivotal role in maintaining the technological backbone that powers our operations as a leading homebuilder in Texas. This position is crucial for minimizing downtime, enhancing user productivity, and supporting our mission to deliver exceptional homes through reliable IT infrastructure. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to innovate and serve customers efficiently in a fast-paced construction environment. In this role, you will provide first-line technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues via phone, email, and in-person assistance on a daily basis. You will troubleshoot network connectivity problems, configure workstations, and install software updates weekly to keep systems current. Monthly, you will perform system backups, monitor server performance, and generate reports on IT metrics such as ticket resolution times and uptime percentages. Collaboration with other departments like engineering and sales is key, as you assist in deploying new tools for project management. You may lead small projects, such as rolling out company-wide antivirus solutions, ensuring all deliverables meet deadlines and quality standards. Expect to handle 20-30 support tickets daily, prioritizing critical incidents to maintain operational continuity. Candidates must possess a bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, along with at least 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IT support roles. Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and Active Directory is required. Familiarity with networking protocols like TCP/IP, VPNs, and basic Cisco equipment is essential, as is experience with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or Zendesk. Knowledge of homebuilding industry software like Procore or Autodesk tools is a plus. Relevant certifications including CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator are highly preferred to demonstrate technical competency. Technical skills in hardware diagnostics, cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS, and virtualization tools such as VMware are vital. Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication for explaining complex issues simply, and a customer-service mindset set top performers apart. You should thrive in collaborative settings, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to identifying potential IT vulnerabilities before they escalate. Perry Homes, founded in 1967, is one of Houston's premier homebuilders with a commitment to quality craftsmanship and customer satisfaction. Our Plano office fosters a collaborative, innovative culture where team members enjoy modern workspaces and a supportive environment. We value work-life balance, integrity, and continuous improvement, making us a unique place to grow your career in a people-first organization. We offer competitive compensation with salary not specified, commensurate with experience, alongside comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and life insurance. Enjoy generous PTO, paid holidays, flexible scheduling, and professional development stipends. Additional perks include employee home discounts, wellness programs, and performance-based bonuses to reward your contributions. Advance your career through internal promotions to senior IT roles, specialized training programs, and certifications reimbursed by the company.
