As a Sales Development Representative at Air, you will play a pivotal role in the early stages of our sales process, identifying and nurturing high-potential leads to propel company growth. This position is crucial for expanding our market presence in the competitive New York tech scene, directly impacting revenue targets and enabling our sales team to close more deals efficiently. In your daily role, you will prospect new business opportunities by researching target accounts, cold calling prospects, and leveraging LinkedIn and email campaigns to generate leads. Weekly, you will qualify inbound inquiries, conduct discovery calls to understand customer needs, and score leads based on predefined criteria such as budget, authority, need, and timeline. You will collaborate closely with Account Executives to schedule qualified meetings, track activities in our CRM system like Salesforce, and provide detailed handoff notes. Monthly responsibilities include analyzing pipeline performance metrics, reporting on key indicators such as call volume, conversion rates, and pipeline contribution, and participating in team strategy sessions to refine outreach tactics. Expect to manage a high volume of outreach, aiming for 50-70 calls per day, while nurturing leads through multi-touch campaigns. You may also contribute to A/B testing email templates and contribute feedback to marketing on lead quality improvements, ensuring seamless cross-departmental collaboration. To succeed in this role, candidates should hold a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. We require at least 1-2 years of experience in sales development, inside sales, or a similar outbound role, preferably in SaaS, technology, or B2B environments. Proficiency in CRM tools such as Salesforce or HubSpot, email outreach platforms like Outreach.io or Salesloft, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator is essential. Strong understanding of sales methodologies like MEDDIC or BANT for lead qualification is required, along with familiarity with New York metro area markets. No specific certifications are mandatory, but Sales Development certifications from platforms like SV Academy are a plus. Beyond technical expertise, you need exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate value propositions persuasively. Resilience and persistence are key, as you'll handle rejection while maintaining a positive attitude and hitting quotas consistently. Organizational skills to manage pipelines and prioritize tasks, combined with analytical abilities to interpret data and optimize strategies, are vital.
