Join Bluecrest Residential as Vice President of Originations for Multifamily Investments, a pivotal leadership role driving the company's expansion in the multifamily real estate sector. This position is crucial for identifying high-potential investment opportunities, structuring complex deals, and delivering strong returns that fuel our portfolio growth and stakeholder value in a competitive market.
Lead the origination process by sourcing and evaluating multifamily investment opportunities across key markets, conducting thorough due diligence on property acquisitions, market conditions, and financial projections. Develop and maintain strategic relationships with brokers, developers, lenders, and institutional investors to build a robust deal pipeline, targeting 20-30 new opportunities quarterly. Oversee the underwriting of deals, including cash flow modeling, sensitivity analysis, and risk assessment using tools like Argus and Excel, ensuring all investments meet our targeted IRR and equity multiple thresholds. Collaborate daily with the acquisitions team, asset management, and capital markets groups to align on strategy, review weekly pipeline reports, and present monthly deal summaries to the executive committee. Manage a team of 3-5 originations professionals, providing mentorship, setting performance KPIs such as origination volume and close rates, and driving cross-departmental projects like joint ventures. Execute closings by negotiating terms, coordinating legal and financing aspects, and monitoring post-closing performance metrics to optimize returns.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field, with an MBA or advanced degree strongly preferred. Require 10+ years of progressive experience in multifamily real estate investments, including at least 5 years in senior origination or underwriting roles at a REIT, private equity firm, or investment bank. Proven track record closing $500M+ in multifamily deals annually, with deep expertise in market analysis, debt/equity financing, and regulatory compliance such as Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac guidelines. Proficiency in financial modeling software (Argus, Yardi), Excel advanced functions, and CRM platforms like DealCloud is essential. Real estate licenses or certifications such as CCIM or CPA are highly desirable.
Excel in financial modeling, deal structuring, and market intelligence gathering, with strong analytical skills to assess cap rates, NOI growth, and exit strategies. Demonstrate exceptional relationship-building, negotiation prowess, and leadership to inspire teams and influence senior stakeholders. Possess strategic thinking, adaptability in volatile markets, and a results-driven mindset, complemented by superior communication skills for presenting complex deals to boards and investors.
