Full Description

Join SimplePractice as our Senior Manager of Accounting and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of a leading platform empowering health and wellness professionals. This position is crucial for maintaining fiscal integrity, optimizing processes, and supporting our mission to simplify practice management, allowing us to scale innovatively while delivering exceptional value to millions of users nationwide. As Senior Manager of Accounting, you will oversee the full accounting lifecycle, including month-end and year-end closes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Daily tasks involve reviewing general ledger entries, reconciling accounts, and analyzing variances to identify cost-saving opportunities. Weekly, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams such as finance, operations, and executive leadership to provide budgeting insights and forecast projections. Monthly responsibilities include preparing management reports, conducting flux analysis, and ensuring SOX compliance through robust internal controls. You will manage a team of accountants, mentoring them on best practices, conducting performance reviews, and driving process improvements using ERP systems. Key deliverables encompass financial statements, audit preparations, and ad-hoc analyses supporting strategic decisions, with metrics focused on accuracy rates above 99%, close cycles under 5 days, and DSO reductions. Expect to lead projects like system implementations and policy updates, partnering with external auditors and tax advisors to mitigate risks and enhance efficiency. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a CPA certification strongly preferred. We require at least 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, including 5+ years in managerial roles within fast-paced tech or SaaS environments. Proficiency in GAAP, financial modeling, and tools like NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Oracle is essential, alongside advanced Excel skills for data analysis and visualization. Familiarity with revenue recognition under ASC 606, subscription billing, and healthcare industry regulations is critical. Prior experience managing teams and navigating complex consolidations in multi-entity structures will set you apart, ensuring you can hit the ground running in our high-growth setting. Success demands strong technical acumen in financial systems and automation tools, paired with exceptional analytical skills to interpret complex datasets. Soft skills such as strategic thinking, proactive problem-solving, and clear communication are vital for presenting insights to non-finance stakeholders and fostering team collaboration. Leadership competencies include talent development, change management, and a detail-oriented mindset with the agility to thrive in ambiguous situations. Industry knowledge of SaaS metrics like ARR, churn, and CAC, combined with a commitment to integrity and innovation, will enable you to contribute meaningfully from day one.
