Job Overview The New Orleans Pelicans, a dynamic NBA franchise, is seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to join our technology team in Metairie, Louisiana. In this critical role, you will deliver top-tier technical support to maintain the smooth operation of our state-of-the-art facilities, including the Smoothie King Center, ensuring our players, staff, and fans experience uninterrupted digital services during high-stakes games, practices, and events. Key Responsibilities Provide first-line technical support for end-users, resolving hardware, software, and peripheral issues efficiently. Diagnose and troubleshoot network connectivity problems, including Wi-Fi, LAN, and VPN setups across office and event spaces. Install, configure, and maintain computers, servers, printers, and mobile devices used by team personnel. Perform routine system maintenance, backups, and updates to minimize downtime during peak periods like game days. Collaborate with vendors for advanced repairs and equipment procurement. Support audio-visual systems for broadcasts, replays, and presentations. Document all support tickets, resolutions, and inventory in our IT management system. Respond to urgent issues after hours as needed to support 24/7 event readiness. Train staff on best practices for IT usage and cybersecurity awareness. Required Qualifications Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred. At least 2 years of hands-on experience in IT support, preferably in a fast-paced sports or entertainment environment. CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent required; Network+ or similar a plus. Skills Strong proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common productivity tools. Expertise in networking protocols, Active Directory, and remote desktop tools like TeamViewer. Excellent problem-solving abilities with a customer-focused approach. Ability to work under pressure in high-energy settings like live events. Solid communication skills for interacting with non-technical staff and executives. Familiarity with VoIP telephony, video conferencing systems, and mobile device management (MDM). Knowledge of cybersecurity basics, including antivirus deployment and phishing prevention.
