Participate in disaster recovery planning, capacity forecasting, and automation of routine tasks using scripting languages like PowerShell or T-SQL. Required Qualifications A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, along with at least 5 years of hands-on experience as a SQL Database Administrator. Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (versions 2016 and later) is essential, including expertise in installation, configuration, and high-availability features such as Always On Availability Groups and clustering. Strong knowledge of database security best practices, including encryption, role-based access control, and vulnerability management. Experience with SQL tuning tools like Query Store, Extended Events, and SQL Server Profiler. Skills Technical skills include advanced T-SQL programming, performance monitoring with DMVs and system views, and ETL processes using SSIS. Familiarity with cloud databases like Azure SQL Database or AWS RDS is highly desirable. Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical teams. Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or MCSA: SQL Server are a plus.
