This onsite position is crucial for advancing our hardware engineering initiatives, directly impacting product reliability, efficiency, and market competitiveness in the tech industry. Your expertise will contribute to groundbreaking projects that enhance energy management and system performance across various applications. In this role, you will daily engage in circuit design, simulation, and prototyping of power converters, inverters, and DC-DC modules using tools like LTSpice and MATLAB. Weekly, collaborate with cross-functional teams including firmware engineers and mechanical designers to integrate power systems into final products, ensuring compliance with efficiency metrics above 95%. Monthly deliverables include performance reports, root cause analyses for failures, and optimization proposals to reduce thermal losses by 20%. You will lead small projects, mentor junior engineers on PCB layout best practices with Altium Designer, conduct hardware testing in labs with oscilloscopes and power analyzers, troubleshoot high-power systems up to 10kW, and document designs for regulatory approvals like UL and IEC standards. Expect hands-on work with gate drivers, MOSFETs, IGBTs, and magnetics design to meet stringent power density goals. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in power electronics design. Proficiency is required in simulation software such as LTSpice, PSpice, and MATLAB/Simulink, along with PCB design tools like Altium or KiCad. Deep knowledge of power semiconductor devices including SiC and GaN technologies, control algorithms like PID and resonant converters, and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques is essential. Familiarity with industry standards such as IEEE, IEC 61800 for motor drives, and experience with high-voltage testing up to 1kV is preferred. Professional certifications like PE license or Six Sigma Green Belt are advantageous. Beyond technical prowess, you will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail in high-stakes environments, and excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings to stakeholders.
