Job Description
Bisnow seeks a Relationship Manager in Commercial Banking for its San Francisco office to drive client relationships and business growth. Leverage your sales expertise to manage portfolios, originate loans, and deliver tailored financial solutions in a dynamic market.
Full Description
Join Bisnow as a Relationship Manager in Commercial Banking and play a pivotal role in fostering long-term client partnerships that fuel our growth in the competitive San Francisco market. This position is essential for expanding our commercial lending portfolio, enhancing client satisfaction, and contributing to the company's reputation as a trusted financial partner in real estate and business sectors. Your strategic relationship-building efforts will directly impact revenue streams and market positioning.
In this role, you will manage a portfolio of commercial clients, conducting regular meetings to assess their financial needs and propose customized banking solutions such as loans, lines of credit, and treasury services. Daily tasks include reviewing client financial statements, preparing credit analyses, and collaborating with underwriting teams to structure deals efficiently. Weekly, you will prospect new business through networking events, cold calls, and referrals, aiming to originate at least two new relationships per quarter. Monthly responsibilities encompass portfolio reviews to monitor key metrics like loan utilization rates, delinquency trends, and client retention scores, while generating reports for senior management. You will partner closely with credit analysts, product specialists, and branch teams to deliver seamless service, and lead cross-selling initiatives for deposit and cash management products. Additionally, you will handle renewals, negotiate terms, and resolve escalations to ensure high client satisfaction and achieve annual targets for revenue growth and new business volume.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, with a Master's or MBA preferred. We require at least 5-7 years of progressive experience in commercial banking or relationship management, including proven success in loan origination and portfolio management totaling $50M+. Expertise in financial analysis using tools like Moody's Analytics, Excel advanced modeling, and CRM systems such as Salesforce is essential. Deep knowledge of commercial real estate lending, middle-market businesses, and regulatory compliance including Basel III and Dodd-Frank is mandatory. Certifications like CPA, CFA, or Commercial Banking Certificate from the American Bankers Association will strengthen your application.
Success demands exceptional relationship-building and sales acumen, with strong negotiation skills to close complex deals. Proficiency in financial modeling, credit risk assessment, and market analysis tools is critical, alongside familiarity with banking platforms like nCino or Blend. Soft skills such as persuasive communication, active listening, and adaptability thrive in our fast-paced environment. You should exhibit strategic thinking to identify client opportunities and resilience in handling competitive pressures, while demonstrating leadership in mentoring junior staff and collaborating across departments.
