Job Overview: Join American Family Care (AFC), a leader in urgent and primary care services, for an exciting Future Opening as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in our Preceptorship program in Denver, Colorado. This full-time position is designed for advanced practice providers seeking structured mentorship and real-world experience in a fast-paced urgent care environment. Under the guidance of seasoned preceptors, you'll develop clinical expertise, enhance diagnostic skills, and contribute to high-quality patient outcomes in a supportive team setting. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests. Diagnose and treat acute illnesses, injuries, and chronic conditions common in urgent care settings, such as infections, sprains, and minor procedures. Prescribe medications, interpret lab results, and provide patient education on treatment plans and preventive care. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and support staff during preceptorship to refine clinical decision-making. Document patient encounters accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards, including OSHA and HIPAA. Required Qualifications: Active, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in Colorado. Master's degree or higher from an accredited NP or PA program. National certification (e.g., ANCC, AANP for NPs; NCCPA for PAs). Current DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification.
