Full Description

Job Overview Matrix Medical Network is looking for a dedicated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team in Luray, VA. In this rewarding role, you will deliver high-quality primary and urgent care services to patients in community settings, home environments, and senior living facilities. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in improving patient outcomes through comprehensive assessments, diagnosis, and treatment plans, all while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and compassion. Key Responsibilities Your primary duties will include performing thorough physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work, imaging, and EKGs, and developing individualized treatment plans. You will diagnose and manage both acute and chronic illnesses, prescribe medications, administer injections, and provide health education to patients and families. Collaboration is essential; you will work closely with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated care. Additionally, you will maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR), adhere to clinical protocols, and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Expect to travel within the Luray area to serve diverse patient populations, including underserved communities and homebound individuals. Required Qualifications Candidates must hold a Master's degree or higher in Nursing (for NPs) or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program. Current, active licensure as an NP or PA in Virginia is required, along with national certification (e.g., ANCC, AANP, or NCCPA). A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in primary care, family practice, or internal medicine is preferred. DEA registration and BLS certification are mandatory, with ACLS preferred. Valid driver's license and auto insurance are necessary due to field-based travel. Skills Success in this role demands strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, excellent communication for patient interactions, and proficiency in EHR systems like Epic or Cerner. You should be adept at time management to handle a flexible schedule, culturally sensitive to diverse populations, and committed to evidence-based practice. Critical thinking, empathy, and the ability to work independently in autonomous settings are crucial.
