Job Overview BECU, a leading not-for-profit credit union dedicated to empowering members financially, is excited to offer the 2026 Software Developer Engineer in Test (SDET) Intern position. This full-time summer internship provides a unique opportunity for aspiring engineers to immerse themselves in the world of software quality assurance within the fintech sector. As an SDET Intern, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build robust testing frameworks, automate test cases, and ensure the reliability of BECU's digital banking platforms. Located in Washington state, this role offers exposure to real-world projects that directly impact the financial well-being of over 1.3 million members. Key Responsibilities You will develop and maintain automated test scripts using modern tools and frameworks to validate software functionality across web and mobile applications. Responsibilities include creating test plans, executing manual and automated tests, identifying defects, and working closely with developers to resolve issues. Interns will participate in agile ceremonies, contribute to continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and analyze test results to improve product quality. Additionally, you will document testing processes, perform exploratory testing, and support performance and security testing initiatives to uphold BECU's commitment to secure, user-friendly services. Required Qualifications Candidates must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, with an expected graduation date of 2026 or later. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving abilities are essential. Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is necessary.
