Resurrection Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Surgery department in Chicago, Illinois. This full-time position offers an exceptional opportunity to work alongside skilled surgeons and healthcare professionals in a state-of-the-art surgical environment, providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing various surgical procedures. As a Surgery Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in preparing patients for surgery, assisting during operative procedures, and providing essential post-operative care. Your expertise in sterile technique, patient monitoring, and emergency response will directly contribute to positive surgical outcomes and patient satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to maintain the highest standards of care throughout the entire surgical process. Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive preoperative assessments, verifying surgical consents and patient identification, preparing operating rooms with necessary equipment and supplies, maintaining strict sterile field protocols, monitoring patient vital signs during procedures, administering medications as directed, documenting all nursing interventions accurately, assisting with patient positioning and transfer, coordinating with recovery room staff for seamless patient handoffs, and participating in surgical time-out procedures to ensure patient safety. Required qualifications include current Illinois Registered Nurse license, minimum two years of surgical nursing experience, BLS and ACLS certifications, strong knowledge of surgical procedures and instrumentation, and excellent communication skills. Preferred qualifications include CNOR certification, experience with electronic health records, and bilingual abilities.
